Der hessische Hersteller Audio Agile, heute nur noch „Agile“, gehörte in den 1990ern zu den erfolgreichsten Newcomern auf dem deutschen Hifi- und Highend-Markt. Das Programm orientierte sich lose an britischem Hifi-Design und versuchte dies mit besonderer handwerklicher Qualität zu kombineren. Neben puristischen Zweiwege-Lautsprechern war besonders der „Step Amp“, auch als reines Class A-Gerät angeboten, bei Kunden und Presse äußerst erfolgreich. Ab Ende der 1990er bot Inhaber Björn Langlie zusätzlich eine preiswertere Baureihe unter dem Namen „Joker“, später „Joker’s“ an. Auch hier achtete man auf erstklassige Verarbeitung und hohen Anspruch. Der Jokers CD-Player beruht auf einem modifizierten Marantz CD-53 MK II und ist wie dieser mit einem Philips CDM12.1-Laufwerk und dem SM5872BS DAC bestückt. Minimale Ausstattung am Gerät, aber umfassend fernbedienbar über herkömmliche Fernbedienungen mit Philips RC-5 Code. Der Kopfhörerausgang - Buchse samt Befestigung - fehlt komplett, die Anschlussbuchsen an der Rückseite sitzen etwas schief in ihren Bohrungen.
