Excellent used condition. The white plastic enclosure has yellowed in a number of places. I have not tried to clean it. No dents - please refer to photos for overall condition. Fully working (no Box). Also included a Samsung 870 QVO 1 TB SATA 2.5 Inch Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) already installed - it is clean, ready to be initialised as required via the Auralic Lighting DS app. Also included a iFi PSU BOXED - all accessories included except for the UK Plug (misplaced). ARIES basiert auf AURALiC’s proprietärer Tesla Hardware-Plattform, die mit einem Quad-Core ARM Cortex-A9 1 GHz Prozessor, 1 GB DDR3 Hauptspeicher und 4 GB internem Massenspeicher ausgestattet ist. Die Tesla Plattform hat eine Rechenleistung von 25.000 MIPS, mehr als genug, um ein riesiges Spektrum von Audioformaten zu dekodieren, wie z.B. AAC, AIFF, ALAC, APE, DIFF, DSF, FLAC, MP3, OGG, WAV, WV und WMA. Als Eingänge stehen Dual-Band High-Speed WiFi, Gigabit Ethernet und USB 2.0 zur Verfügung. Ausgangsseitig verfügt ARIES über S/PDIF-Anschlüsse in koaxialer und optischer Ausführung, ein AES/EBU Interface und ein mit AURALiC’s patentierter ActiveUSB™ Technologie realisiertes USB Host Audio Interface. Über USB liefert ARIES PCM Formate von 44,1 bis 384 kHz bei 16, 24 und 32 Bit Auflösung sowie DSD und Double-Rate DSD an kompatible USB-D/A-Wandler. Die anderen Digitalausgänge sind auf max. 192 kHz und 24 Bit beschränkt. Durch die Nutzung der OpenHome Struktur, die auch vom britischen Hersteller von Streaming Lösungen LINN verwendet wird, verfügt ARIES (sowie andere Produkte mit der AURALiC Lightning Technologie) über fortgeschrittene Funktionen wie z.B. On-Device-Playlists, die ein Abschalten der Steuer-App im Wiedergabebetrieb erlauben, sowie vollständigen Multiroom-Betrieb und die gleichzeitige Nutzung mehrerer Steuerungs-Apps. Beides sind Funktionen, die nicht Teil der klassischen Protokolle wie UPnP und DLNA sind. ARIES wird mit AURALIC’s Lightning DS App geliefert. Diese App ermöglicht die vollständige Steuerung von ARIES, das Durchstöbern Ihrer Musikdateien auf NAS (Network Attached Storage)-Geräten, das Streamen von Musikinhalten in hoher Qualität von Musikdiensten wie Qobuz und WiMP, die Steuerung der Wiedergabe und das Konfigurieren der Hardware wie z.B. die Ausgangswahl und das Setzen von WiFi-Parametern. Die App unterstützt auch Songcast, ein Musikverteilungssystem, das es erlaubt, den Audioausgang eines Computers auf ein beliebiges Gerät der Lightning Familie zu leiten, Musik zwischen verschiedenen Lightning Geräten zu verbinden, sowie über Apple AirPlay zu streamen. Derzeit ist die Lightning DS App für iOS in zwei Verschiedenen für das iPad und das iPhone erhältlich. ARIES ist auch mit anderen Steuerungs-Apps der OpenHome bzw. UPnP AV Familie kompatibel wie z.B. Linn Kinsky und BubbleDS, allerdings unterstützen diese Apps nicht die erweiterten Funktionen der Lightning DS App wie Online-Streaming und Hardware-Einstellungen. Als besonderes Komfortmerkmal verfügt ARIES über ein 3 Zoll großes OLED Display, über das jederzeit der Wiedergabestatus kontrolliert werden kann, sowie eine AURALiC RC-1 Fernbedienung für Grundfunktionen wie Play, Pause und Titelsprung auch ohne die Lightning DS App bemühen zu müssen.
