This is a Bang & Olufsen Beogram 2402 turntable in the rosewood trim with a MMC 30EN stylus fitted. It’s fully working, has its lid and is in great order all round. A small scuff to the trim on the right-hand side of the deck as you look at it, but other than that — it has been left well alone. These are interesting turntables in that not only can they be wholly operated with the lid closed (for reasons of safety, apparently) but when paired with the Beomaster 2400-2 could be operated via remote control. I mean… you get what you pay for, right? As such, the DIN pins on these decks come with two additional pins (to carry the remote signal from the Beomaster), but happily these unscrew and can be used ‘as normal’ with B&O amps (as this deck was tested using). Will obviously supply with the pins. Records can be paused and restarted, skating is compensated automatically, arm mass is obviously next-to-nothing. This is a great looking turntable, but also one that absolutely does the job. Comes with its original two-pronged plug. The feet of the unit are present and correct. Original stylus guard is present. Bang & Olufsen Beogram 2402. Been in storage for a while, record deck works, no din lead for cassette deck, but seems to have output. Speaker cones are split and one of the covers does not push fit. This is a Bang & Olufsen Beogram 2402 turntable in the rosewood trim with a MMC 30EN stylus fitted. It’s fully working, has its lid and is in great order all round. A small scuff to the trim on the right-hand side of the deck as you look at it, but other than that — it has been left well alone. These are interesting turntables in that not only can they be wholly operated with the lid closed (for reasons of safety, apparently) but when paired with the Beomaster 2400-2 could be operated via remote control. I mean… you get what you pay for, right? As such, the DIN pins on these decks come with two additional pins (to carry the remote signal from the Beomaster), but happily these unscrew and can be used ‘as normal’ with B&O amps (as this deck was tested using). Will obviously supply with the pins. Records can be paused and restarted, skating is compensated automatically, arm mass is obviously next-to-nothing. This is a great looking turntable, but also one that absolutely does the job. Comes with its original two-pronged plug. The feet of the unit are present and correct. Original stylus guard is present. There are plenty of descriptions of this unusual BEOGRAM turntable on a multiplicity of websites on the Net and several YouTube videos also show this 2402 model. One user says The design is something to die for! Here is my own description of this Bang & Olufsen unit. This turntable is on a rosewood plinth and has an integrated protective cover. Its actual operation is very clever as it detects the size and speed of records that are placed on the turntable and when the start button is pressed the pick up arm carefully moves to the start of the record and the stylus is then gently lowered onto the start groove. The tracking weight (see specification below) is 1.2gm so your records will last for a very long time. The tracking has been checked on this unit and even with that low weight it works perfectly. When it reaches the end of the music it lifts the stylus and the arm is elevated and moved back to the start position. If you are playing an LP and somebody rings your doorbell you can press the Pause button and the arm will lift the stylus off the record and then, when you have dealt with the interruption, the stylus will gently be lowered on to the record and your music will resume - without any need to handle the pick-up arm. It should be noted that when playing 45s that have juke-box style centre that there is no need for any flimsy plastic adaptor as the 2402 has a built in pop-up adapter as can be seen in the first picture. The unit is extremely well constructed and weighs 6.7Kg - just a tad heavier than a lot of modern plastic products. It will be very carefully packed to ensure its safe arrival. The buyer will need to fully clockwise turn the three bolts to release it from safe transportation mode - see the last picture with the three circled bolts. Then the turntable will return to full floating mode that ensures its shock-free use. I am 80 now and hope this very unusual unit can end up in a museum or with some B&O enthusiast who can keep it for another 40 years.
