Here we have a pair of preowned Celestion Ditton 44 floorstanding speakers. The speakers are FAULTY - the left speakers tweeter has blown, and the right speakers mid-range driver has blown. The grilles are also damaged, with one having a snapped frame (see picture 23), and the other having had multiple of its pegs snapped off (see picture 24). Besides these faults, the speakers are in used condition with a number of cosmetic marks and scratches which can be seen in the pictures attached: - Corner damage on most corners of both speakers. - A dark stain on the top face of the right speaker (see picture 6).- An assortment of scratches, chips and other cosmetic marks in various locations. I do not accept returns on vintage equipment once collected due to being unable to track the individual valuable parts but item can be fully inspected by the buyer upon collection and you only pay for the item when you are 100% happy !! or I will cancel the transaction Early Celestion MK1 Ditton 44 speakers completely original and not altered (the MK2 had black covers) these were bought in the family from new and had light use /then stored for many years . They have not been abused and well looked after and will be demonstrated upon purchase so you are 100% satisfied with them and happy for you to test as returns cannot be accepted . These speakers have Rola Celestion speakers /cones now I am not entering the debate but please google pre rola speakers pre 1975 and you will understand why they are so sought after for their sound qualities. These speakers were sold in the postwar years from 1949 under Rola Celestion changed hands in 1968 the company then started production in Ipswich , moving all production there by 1975. The company merged with a clothing company in 1970 and the result was a named to Celestion Industries for identifying the speakers. The speaker replacement grill badges are present just removed for storage as the original slimmer early type ones cracked and had to be replaced they go in the top left hand corner. Cash on collection only by the purchaser end user only no third parties as you need to test item to be 100% satisfied before collection. Collection in person means No postage and includes collection by your courier as you cannot test the speakers before you purchase . The purchaser/end user can test /inspect the equipment fully before final collection and if not completely satisfied I will cancel the transaction. As you can appreciate I cannot accept returns after final collection as its primarily used vintage hifi equipment and tracking of the individual original high value internal components is impossible.

These are my Celestion Ditton 442 stereo floorstanders. I have owned them now for 10 years. They look great and have few flaws on the cabinets. I was never given the front grilles although you can make copies easily and buy authentic looking grille material online. The speakers sound lovely. These are the evolution model and use different units to the previous Ditton 44. Alike the Ditton 44 the Ditton 442 share units from its bigger sister the 662. It is nearly identical apart from the passive radiator and the bigger cabinet that the 662 has. That said they feature the same FC121 330mm bass woofer with 46mm voice coil. A (442 only) FC61 130mm coated cone midrange with 25mm voice coil and a HF2001 25mm plastic dome tweeter with a 19mm voice coil (same as the Ditton 662. Also the HF2001 is the evolution to the famous HF2000 BBC acredited tweeter used in the Ditton 66). The cabinets are 762 x 390 x 290 all mm. They weigh 25 KGs each. The stands weigh about 2 KG each, The speakers are original and have not been modified but unfortunately the little black metal tweeter grilles are missing but you can get those readily available online however the speakers come complete with the stands shown in the pictures. Selling my much loved celestion Ditton studio 44 all drivers in mint condition as are cabinets for the age in great condition , as you can see they have the veneer front baffle which looks much better than some black and MDF types on eBay. These are about as good as you can get so start bidding , pS they sound awesome as I’m sure you already know. Great powerful base very nice lively treble. I love them and sad to have to let them go. Celestion Ditton 44 1970s loudspeakers - owned from new (bought in Bath). I have been using these until very recently with my Naim all in one amplification. They seem quite easy to drive so most normal amplification would work (suggest over 10-15 watts per channel min). Impedance is 4-8 ohms. Included are a pair of top quality Naim speaker cables (black) with banana plugs at amplifier end and soldered wire loops at loudspeaker end. In my 70s student days there was some cosmetic damage - sliver of hw lipping on left side broke off, but has never affected functionality. I had intended to get a joiner to refit new lipping but never got round to. (See photos) They do have plenty of bass (which is tighter when lifted a few inches off the floor on something solid), plus one of the sweetest treble tweaters around. Sad to see go but they are not small to just keep on nostalgic grounds and hope someone else can continue to enjoy.

Celestion Ditton 442. Sound Great! These are my Ditton 442. I have owned them now for 10 years. They look great and have few flaws on the cabinets. Like the 44 the 442 share unit from the their bigger sister the 662. The woofer is 13.5 odd size but cearly measures bigger than 12. The mid is a 5 cone and there is a 1 dome tweeter. The cabinets are big and reasuingly heavy. The speakers come complete with the stands.
