In the meantime, I finally managed to get my very old integrated amplifier Musical Fidelity Nu-Vista repaired (I had already been losing hope that it would be possible to repair...). This Nu-Vista integrated amp includes a very capable phono stage so, in the interest of reducing the number of cable connections under my table, I decided to connect my turntable directly to the Nu-Vista. For this reason, I am selling the Clearaudio, which is otherwise a very capable and wonderful-sounding component. Der Name: PPA9 Ich habe recherchiert: Das ist kein klassischer Phonoverstärker, sondern ein Step up. Das Eingangssignal wird demnach um rund 20 Dezibel erhöht. Der interessante Gedanke: Mein Verstärker hat einen hochwertigen MM-Eingang, aber ich will ein feines MC-System auf meinem Plattenspieler montieren. Genau hier kann ein Step Up der perfekte Problemlöser sein. Spannende Frage: Wo ist der Anschluss für den externen Trafo? Es gibt ihn nicht. Diese Stufe wird im Inneren mit zwei 9-Volt-Batterien betrieben. Singulär in der Entwicklung, in der audiophilen Botschaft. Denn: Batterien liefern eine höchst stabile Spannung - ein Trafo und der Netzstrom können schwanken. So ist diese Konstruktion bewusst high-endig ausgelegt. Alle Signalwege zudem in doppeltem Mono-Aufbau. Gerade aufgeschraubt: Die Kontakte sind perfekt erhalten (böse Batterien hätten auslaufen können, hier keine Spur davon).
