Very nice condition with no chips, dings, or gouges in the paint or finish. No rips, tears, or pilling on the cloth speaker covers. Physical condition 8/10, with only minor scuffs and light surface scratches in a few discreet areas as would be expected for a pre-owned item. European made speakers of one of the finest brands of speaker out there. MSRP for the pair was almost $800 and they were produced around the year 2005. Serial numbers are in sequence: 186345F and 186346F. Each speaker came with two bridges to bridge the high and low frequency inputs if desired. The XQ10 may be the smallest model in the range but if you are looking for a top notch bookshelf speaker for a small to a medium size room, this will nail it. The speakers feature Kefs award winning Uni-Q array with tangerine waveguide and a dome tweeter in a totally unconventional speaker cabinet where the sides are not flat but rounded. Compared to their earlier versions of the Uni-Q array driver, this latest version has more sparkle to the mids and highs. So in terms of detail retrieval, the XQ10 has much more to offer. Bass is not its strong point (it only has a 5.25 driver) but actually sounds pretty respectable in the right setting. Although Kef compares this to the legendary Rogers LS 3/5 monitor speaker, we find that its a more bassful version of it with sharper highs and mids than the Rogers. Is it better? I think the jury is out on this. Both are good speakers from two different era. And totally enjoyable if you are looking for a modest and intimate sounding system. Each speaker is 7.5 wide, 10 deep and 13 tall. Frequency response is 63 Hz to 55 kHz with a nominal impedance of 8 ohm and a sensitivity of 86 dB. Cosmetically, the speakers look good. Being that it is a gloss black finish, it has some polishing swirl marks and a few light scratches. Grille covers are not original ones and previous owner took it off from another KEF speakers and double taped it (they are very strongly taped on and we didnt remove it) on the speakers. We dont have the original box but will securely pack this for safe shipping.
