It was fully refurbished by the Expert Stylus & Cartridge Company in May 2023 receiving a new boron cantilever and new stylus. The serial number is 1994 and the current retail price sits at £2,098. Koetsu Rosewood Signature / MC / Excellent stylus / Original Box. This is the very first series of Rosewood cartridges released by Koetsu. It is in beautiful condition and has a fantastic stylus. Production number 14868 I also have the matching transformers if anyone is interested. The transformers are available for sale as well.

I bought it few years ago with a slightly misaligned cantilever. I sent it to Ana Mighty (the best Koetsu specialist in Europe) for their opinion on how to fix it. Theyve examined all the parts and confirmed that the cartridge is 100% original. Theyve also carried out a simple damper modification to align cantilever with the body. Condition: I think its a solid 7 out of 10. I can notice that the very top end (air) is not so distinctive as when it was new. High frequencies, mid range, and low end are still producing exciting sound spectrum. It tracks my most demanding records with ease. Ive recorded a few samples and can share it with a serious buyer. There are some imperfections in the lacquer and a scratch on the metal cover. Please refer to photos. It comes with an original stylus guard and an original wooden box. In really nice, clean condition, this is a superb sounding example I have had for several years. I had the official importers absolute Sound, send it back to Japan for a full factory rebuild as Koetsu do not recommend re-tipping and its been my reserve cartridge for a while. It was used with an SME 3012 on a Garrard 301, and latterly on a Analogue Instruments Siggwan wooden tonearm, a wonderful match. I have owned several cartridges and this has been by far the best, but I havent used it so much lately as I just havent had the time to indulge in analogue audio. I bought it few years ago with a slightly misaligned cantilever. I sent it to Ana Mighty (the best Koetsu specialist in Europe) for their opinion on how to fix it. Theyve examined all the parts and confirmed that the cartridge is 100% original. Theyve also carried out a simple damper modification to align cantilever with the body. Condition: I think its a solid 7 out of 10. I can notice that the very top end (air) is not so distinctive as when it was new. High frequencies, mid range, and low end are still producing exciting sound spectrum. It tracks my most demanding records with ease. Ive recorded a few samples and can share it with a serious buyer.
