VTG LAFAYETTE SUPER NICE 6 CHANNEL POWERFUL STEREO RECEIVER LR-5555 SUPER CLEAN, TESTED. Made in Japan. PLEASE READ LISTING IN ITS ENTIRETY. Features phono input, a real nice feature is it can handle 4 ohm speakers. Has nice R&L simulated wood sides. Appears gently used for I barely see user marks to my eyes. I see a little light dust behind the display window. Please the many pictures see how nice this Lafayette really is. Please note I did pick up some reflections in some of the pictures, mostly on the display these are not imperfections. Please note: This belonged to my mothers husband who passed, a collector of electronics and speakers and this will be one of many items of his collection we will be selling. I will do my best to describe this Lafayette was tested without an owners manual, and please note I am not an expert. On the front- it has a beautiful aluminum front plate and it appears all display lights are working as they should including the stereo indicator light. All knobs and push buttons, levers, headphone jack also working as should and do their intended job, the tuner knob moves smoothly and correctly. All lettering in place and I see no signs of failure. On the back- All 6 A/B/C channels work as well as AM antenna and FM inputs. All RCAs working as well as the phono and sensitivity mag as well as the A/C outlets, tape RCAs not tested, dont know how. It has a good clean power cord. If there is something I missed again I am not an expert. I used this for a month plus with no issues. Hows it sound? This Lafayette is amazing with all the options, features you can use on playback to tailor to your liking. Using a VTG Sony high end record player, vtg Onkyo CD player and vtg Yamaha 3 way NS speakers, and a variety of material all I can say is WOW! It has sweet highs, clean midrange, and punchy low end. This is a powerful receiver, built like a tank and super heavy, mostly on the side where the amp is. Hopefully youll be WOWED, too! The FM/AM sounds very nice, also. The voltage NEEDS to be 6.3 and 12.6. You can calibrate a vintage tube tester all you want. If the heater voltage is not right, you will NEVER get the right gm value. I have customers complain that their tubes are not the same as what I see on my tester. They say they have a calibrated tube tester. I have 40 tube testers. On all of them I have an outside regulated DC power supply that feeds the tube tester the correct heater voltage. 7. I dont check each and every tube for noise or tone. It give a percentage value of gm for the tube under test and checks for shorts and grid emissions. I also use a Tektronix curve tracer for testing triodes. I give a number of evaluations for tubes. One evaluation is a screen shot of the tube with a high voltage applied to the plate. This helps the buyer see the linearity of the tube in question at the highest voltage the tube will see in a real circuit. The Curve tracer steps the triode through 10 gate/grid voltages starting with -10 volts and going to 0 volts. The lines show how the tube conducts throughout that range. At 0 volt the tube is at max conduction and is the top line on the display. It is easy at that point to take where that top line intersects the plate voltage, find the milliamp level and compare it to the datasheet. I give those numbers for you in the Item condition box. To further help the buyer I also include the Design values, for gm and ma readings in the table. This can then be compared to other tube sellers using inferior test methods such as Hickok,  Amplitrex, and other testers. The Tektronix curve tracer gives values within 3% of the actual value. The very best portable testers only can approach 10% accuracy.5.    Please note: The numbers given for gm are what I see on my tester.
