Sonance concentrates on the commercial audio markets and their brand is not top-of-mind for the higher-end audio market. These Sonamp 275 SE amps are a real sleeper for high-end 2-channel stereo listening on a budget. The build quality is outstanding- made in the U.S.A.. They sound amazingly detailed. Can effortlessly drive power-hungry speakers. This is not an integrated amplifier with a built-in preamplifier and phono sections and tone controls. You can feed a source directly into the amps like a CD player or tuner but will need a preamplifier (with a phono section) for phono input or in cases where you have several source components. You will also need a preamp if you want variable volume (gain/trim) and tone controls. These Sonamps have left/right volume pots recessed into the front panel where channel output can be set and balanced. The Sonamp amplifier appeal is broad with some very interesting features: For multi-speaker, distributed sound systems: These Sonamp amplifiers incorporate a factory installed and upgradeable BBE SAT module. BBE Sound Enhancement improves presence and detail of music, especially at lower volumes, making the 275 SE ideal for use in distributed audio systems and paging systems. Features like auto turn-on (with delay), a bridging switch and a ground lift switch make the Sonamp 275 SE very installer friendly. For 2-channel stereo listening: The Sonamp distributed audio system design means they can be used in high-current situations operating at 2.7 ohms which is a difficult load for most amps to drive. The BBE SAT technology can also compensate for poor source material.This amplifier is gently used and has been tested and works fine. It sounds great with my Paradigm test speakers and a CD player. The cosmetics are excellent with just a few light scuffs on the top panel which are shown in the photos.
