It has some cosmetic wear and tear as youll see in the photographs. In working order for playback, recording and fast forward, I think the deck MAY need a new belt as tape rewind is slow / laboured. Please also note that the power switch plunger was repaired about 20 years ago which temporarily fixed a known issue with stickiness of the switch. Both the belt and plunger could be permanently repaired by a qualified engineer and this is reflected in the price. Sonically, the cassette deck is excellent, especially on Metal tapes (as tested.)

Nakamichi BX-125E Cassette Deck SERVICED & Calibrated. Transport disassembled, old lubricants removed, motors serviced, new idler tyre and belts installed. Power supply electrolytics replaced & upgraded. Output potentiometer replaced with new. Pots and switches cleaned. Wow & flutter is excellent at 0.04 wtd. Calibration completed for TDK MA / SA / D. Pletina Cassete Nakamichi BX-125E.

I bought this last year on ebay for £250. It has since been fully cleaned and serviced including new belts, as well as all capacitors replaced by HEAR Audio, Sussex. This cost around £250. It is in perfect working order. The cosmetic condition is excellent and I believe far better than almost all others I've seen for sale. Selling as I have not used it as much as I anticipated, it was more for nostalgic reasons that I bought it originally. Would therefore suit an enthusiast with this superb reconditioned example. Circuit layout sheets included (these were supplied by HEAR audio). Please note there are a few dust specs in the photo but the front is unmarked. Although I’ve spent over £500 on this am starting with a low starting bid now and see how it goes.
