This cast basket mid/bass driver with carbon-fiber blend cone was also used in the HPM-60. It bears what appears to be a 1979 build code on the basket’s rear. So, please have a look at my large photos and read the remaining description to decide if this capable PIONEER woofer should be yours. *Although the listing is written largely in singular to avoid any confusion, two (2) PIONEER #25-737A-1 10” woofers are available at time of this writing. Please choose if you’d like to buy one or both in the quantity field at the top of the listing. The shipping cost will be automatically calculated by eBay checkout. This PIONEER woofer is in relatively clean, very good condition. The sturdy ribbed, carbon-fiber impregnated paper cone is structurally flawless with perfect voice coil cap, but it exhibits some staining as pictured (the first of the two woofers to sell, not pictured, has a cone that is less stained). Plus, the surround is permanent “accordion-style” textile material, instead of the fragile foam used on the early version of this driver, and is urethane-coated for added durability. Also, the sizeable cast aluminum-alloy basket is perfect and there are no chips or oxidation on the large magnet structure. And, the +/- terminals are marked for polarity (red dot = +), measure the standard .205”, and have never been soldered on the spades. Overall, this is a well-preserved vintage woofer. Most importantly, it was tested recently and sounds great with clear, fast midrange and ample low-end. It’s rated down to 35Hz and carries to 4kHz in the HPM-40, so it’s a stout wide-range driver. Plus, I tested its DC resistance at 5.9?, consistent with an 8 ohm nominal rating of the past (it would be considered 6 ohm today). It shows a 1979 build code on the orange product sticker and differs from the later B-variant of this driver only in faceplate thickness and the +/- terminal positioning. I have no doubt they are interchangeable since I’ve found an A-suffix and a B-suffix super tweeter in a pair of HPM-40 speakers several times. So, please take a look at my large photos and read the remaining description to decide if this indispensable PIONEER upper frequency driver is correct for your needs. This PIONEER super tweeter is in clean, excellent condition. The polymer film is flawlessly smooth underneath the perfect condition protective metal screen. Plus, the faceplate is also perfect with no cracks, scratches, or marks. Lastly, the +/- terminals are marked for polarity and have never been soldered on the spades. Overall, it’s exceptionally well-preserved. The PIONEER HPM speakers used this super tweeter to top-off the driver ensemble and it covers all the way to an impressive 25kHz. I tested it recently and it worked perfectly—clear and very crisp—but the output is very faint by design as with all of these super tweeter units I’ve handled over the years. Pair (2) 1977 PIONEER HPM 40 Speaker Grill Covers ~ Complete Grilles ~ Excellent. Here's a pair of grille covers harvested from a set of Pioneer HP-40 speakers. These are in good vintage condition but not perfect. Please see pictures for detail of actual condition. Both covers have wear from age use and storage. Frayed ends and some small nicks and pokes. One cover looks like it has a spill mark near the top but it is not as visible on the speaker face away from white background and photo lights. Covers come with badges and all corner mounting pegs. There is one tiny tiny hole that is shown in photo.
