VINTAGE SONY TC-222-A TAPECORDER 5 REEL TO REEL TAPE RECORDER/PLAYER WITH 3 MANUALS Available now is a vintage cherished Sony TC-222-A Tapecorder. It is a 5 reel-to-reel machine that measures approximately 12 X 12 X 4 tall. All parts are original Sony except the power cord which is Hirakawa. I purchased this tape recorder myself when it was new. All tested functions work except FF (fast forward). I listened to all my old tapes prior to writing this listing and the speed of the take-up reel is spot on. Note: When I wanted to use the FF function, I flipped the reels and hit rewind. Cosmetically, nothing is broken, all compartments on the back open and close securely. The cover on the top opens easily. The narrow metal strip covering the window screws is missing. All buttons, knobs, switches (except FF) move as they should. I have not tested record or put in batteries. Whether you choose to purchase this machine for listening, recording, or for parts, you will be getting a slightly used, but historically well-made machine. I recommend that it be serviced. You will receive 3 booklets that came with the original purchase: the Owners Manual (with detailed schematic drawings), Tape Talk (full of definitions and instructions), and original service locations.
