These early decks are renowned for their warm fluid sound. It is s/n 26393 – and has 22-Feb-1978 date-stamped on the inside of the plinth. Everything works. It has the original red button power supply and a spot-welded sub-chassis with a gold colored bearing body. The motor is very quiet , smooth and gives a correct and stable speed. The plinth is a “Greaves Fluted” type in the now unobtainable Afromosia wood and is in excellent condition with no obvious marks or dents. It still has the original makers s/n label on the back. It has correctly functioning sprung hinges and the transparent lid is in excellent undamaged condition. It has a rare and sought after Hadcock GH228 uni-pivot tonearm which is in excellent , complete and working condition. It’s fitted with an Ortofon VMS20E Cartridge/Stylus and even has an additional extra-heavy counterweight and an additional brand new, boxed replacement stylus. This tone-arm is original continuous wired type and is in excellent shape. Admittedly it’s very tricky to set up correctly but sounds fantastic when it’s all properly balanced and aligned. The deck has enjoyed continuous ownership from new, up to 2022. Recently I have replaced the suspension springs and grommets as the original ones were beginning to sag. I also had a new drive belt fitted as again, the original one was becoming brittle. It’s been fully thoroughly cleaned and serviced. I had considered further upgrades but decided it’s better left alone as it sounds fantastic and there aren’t many of these original specification red button decks left now as most were personalized or upgraded. This is a very delicate and sensitive deck so its listed for collection only ..... no returns accepted once it leaves my care.

This is a direct drive, fully automatic turntable. All the functions work: the auto size selector works well, I placed a 45RPM(pic 9) on the turntable and it auto selected it, its also working with 33s. The arm transport buttons work, but the arm slows down, when it gets to the edge of the record, Im not sure if its meant to. There is a slight warp to the plastic mat that is fixed to the platter, it doesnt affect play a lot, theres no skipping. Stylus/cartridge appears to be original, they are in used condition, and could be replaced. There is crack in the lid, that isnt really spreading(pic 3). I gave the turntable a light detail/cleaning. Sprayed de-oxit into the buttons, gently hand-polished the lid. The unit is in working condition, but would benefit from further service/cleaning. You could call it an easy project turntable. Im going to start the price accordingly. I have good experience shipping turntables, and very seldom have any problems. Most items are *used* unless otherwise stated. Linn Sondek LP12 Turntable with Syrinx PU2 tonearm and AT110 Cartridge (with AT115 stylus) in fluted plinth. Nice condition LP12 with Valhalla Power supply which has had capacitors replaced around a year ago. The Stainless steel top plate is 2mm thick (standard thickness is 1.5mm) and also has provision for an Origin Live motor to be mounted in the 8 oclock position, this is blanked off at present. The sub chassis I had manufactured, and features aluminium plates top and bottom riveted and bonded to an acrylic inner layer, the original sub chassis is included with the sale, but the fitted chassis is a great improvement. The Syrinx PU2 tonearm at the time of release when reviewed was said to have had similar performance to the Ittok, this model has the optional mass ring fitted to it, which does cause the dustcover to clash with it when down, so the rear hinges have been raised slightly to prevent this, they can be dropped back down if youd prefer to remove the mass ring. The top of the platter and inner platter isnt pristine, but is not visible when the mat is fitted, the visible part of the platter on the circumference face is in nice condition. The bearing and motor runs quietly and this is a great sounding turntable. Im afraid I dont have a serial number for the LP12. This is a superb tonearm that requires the very best of cartridges not the cheap one I have installed (CARTRIDGE NOT INCLUDED) The base plate is also not included as it was made specifically for the turntable neither is the turntable These were a few thousand from Alium Audio the Importer I will have my local HIFI shop take it off and give it the seal of approval before shipping it The Tonearm certainly was not cheap, Capable of great results, it is a duo pivot design, I had to have my local HiFi put the arm together and put on the cartridge and align it all properly. I do not have the time and patience to fiddle around with unpivot type designs, this tonearm was designed for Consonance by well tempered labs, who make even fiddlier tonearms of outstanding performance This tonearm is for a pure hifi/ audiophile enthusiast who wants the very best sound possible and keeps there records pristine.
