Kaleidescape Strato Movie Player (2U, 6TB)..I I have owned this from new and it is a delight to use. If you are looking, then you will probably know already its capabilities such as instant start up of moves - no waits for adverts. Selecting movies is a joy too and also offers other choices from same director or similar genres. It can store and playback up to 100 4K UHD, or 200 Blu-Ray quality or 900 DVD quality movies from its internal disk. Video output is up to 2160p on NTSC, PAL & Film formats.Deep Colour is supported too. It works with HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2. Displays and intermediate devices should meet these requirements and ideally support an 18.2Gbps connection. It supports 10 bit colour and HDR. HDMI 2.0a is required for HDR. Strato supports advanced, lossless audio formats including Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD MA, Dolby Atmos, and DTS:X. Strato sends these formats as a bitstream over HDMI to a compatible audio processor. There are 2 HDMI outputs which permits direct connection to a projector for optimium video quality whilst digital stero or multichannel audio can be received from the second HDMI output. There is an RJ 45 connection for internet connection, ideally 1Gbps. I have original box and the remote control (there is also a downloadable Kaleidescape App for iPad for easy control) and power supply unit. But nothing further. You will need a good HDMI cable and shielded Cat 6 cable. Please note that Kaleidescape requires deactivation of the device - including deletion of stored movies - before sale of the unit.
