Up for auction is a Tascam 122 MKIII professional 3 head stereo cassette deck. The deck is fully serviced and the following repairs have been done: - Cleaned the heads and pinch roller.- Lubricated the capstan/motor shafts.- Replaced the idler tire and the broken mode gear.- Replaced the capacitors on the DD motor pcb board, adjusted the speed, W&F 0.025% to 0.030%. - Checked the playback/record heads for correct azimuth.- Replaced the VU meter light bulbs. - Adjusted the electronics for correct levels using TDK SA tape. All the functions are operating as they should be, playback, record, ff, rew, pause, counter, counter memory, record calibration, pitch control, headphones, dolby B/C, MPX. The performance is excellent (maybe one of the best sounding decks), the sound is warm, the bass is deep, the mid/highs crystal clear with wide stereo image in both modes (play/record). The deck is in very good condition, considering the age (see the pictures). This is a 120V model, S/N 2Z00015. All the questions are very welcome. I moved recently in US from Greece, where I was working in Greek Nakamichi service during 90s and I have all the professional equipment (original test tapes, oscilloscope, wow & flutter meter, distortion meter, frequency response meter, CR-7 test unit, 1000ZXL test unit).
