Adcom GFA-555 MKII w/ Original Manual. This amplifier is in excellent pre-owned condition. While not worth mentioning, it does have a single 1-2mm mark that doesnt look like a scratch on its top. It performs flawlessly and operates as it should. It has never been modified. This is an excellent example of this renowned amplifier. General Specifications:The amplifier is a stereo amplifier with a power output of 200 watts per channel into 8 ohms. It can also be bridged to mono mode, providing a power output of 600 watts into 8 ohms. The frequency response of the amplifier is typically 20 Hz to 20 kHz (+0, -0.25 dB) at 1 watt into 8 ohms. The THD of the amplifier is less than 0.03% at rated power into 8 ohms from 20 Hz to 20 kHz. The SNR of the amplifier is typically greater than 120 dB below rated output, A-weighted. The amplifier has a damping factor greater than 400 into 8 ohms. The input sensitivity of the amplifier is 1.5 volts for rated power into 8 ohms. Input Impedance: The input impedance of the amplifier is 100 kohms. The amplifier measures approximately 19 inches wide, 7 inches high, and 13 inches deep (48.3 cm x 17.8 cm x 33 cm). The Adcom GFA-555 listed here has amplifiers of the original Nelson Pass design. It is a slightly later production version that did away with the regulated power supply, operating instead directly off the +-80V rectified and filtered supply coming via the power transformer. This is a performance advantage over the original regulated supply version due to the increase (+2.5dB) in Dynamic Headroom thereby afforded. Additionally: The stock 15,000uF main filter capacitors have been replaced by 59,000uf GE industrial parts and the monolithic generic bridge rectifiers have been upgraded to individual dual diode package high speed and high efficiency rectifiers. The 16 gauge wires used for handling DC and ground path currents have been replaced by heavy copper buss strips. It meets or exceeds all specifications published for this model by Adcom (see photo of specs). Some dings and scratches can seen in up close inspection but its overall physical appearance is good.
