Heres a most interesting audio input transformer. This ADC A-2777 dates from the 40s,and was made to the higest standards. Its bi-filar wound. This gives minimum inductance, allows for super wide and linear frequency response, super quiet...And super expensive to make! Check out the pix for super clean symmetrical waveforms and no ringing. The only other transformers I know of done this way are McIntosh tube amp outputs which also have super wide frequency response. This transformer has been checked out using classic Hewlett Packard/Tektronics audio lab gear,and also applied in real time audio as a Mic input transformer with very low gain ribbon mics.
