Known issues: The MMC5 cartridge is missing its needle, the counterweight comes off the the end of the tonearm if you pull on it (I am not sure if this is how it was made or if something is wrong). Operation: Unit powers on, when you press play or cue the platter rotates for several seconds and then stops. Sometimes the tonearm will rotate into position and sometimes it does not. I purchased this unit along with a stack of other vintage electronics from the original family that owned them, they kept all of their electronics in very clean condition and clearly took care of their stuff.

On the little research I did I think it has to do with the tracking or the needle on the cassette. I looked and the needle looks sharp but once again I am not an expert. This could be a very simple fix for all I know but I am selling it for parts due to not being able to make it work properly in the time I had to spend on it.If it is a simple fix I hope you either use it or sell it and get enjoyment from it one way or the other. It is in great physical condition the only flaw being the circle that is melted in the dust cover (See Picture). IT IS BEING SOLD AS-IS FOR PARTS OR REPAIR I WILL NOT ACCEPT RETURNS ON THIS ITEM.

I am reducing my collection of classic Bang and Olufsen equipment and hope to pass it on to someone who is interested in collecting B&O equipment. Very nice Beogram RX. It has been serviced and new high quality belt has been fitted. This unit is designed to have the MMC 1 - 5 range of stylus fitted. Its not included as requirement varies which version is the most appropriate. Many are for sale on Ebay or can be bought new from Soundsmith. Optically the unit is very good apart from a small amount (approx 10 - 15mm) of black paint missing from one of the turntable lines but this could easily be rectified (see first photo towards the top second line).
