Up for sale is a completely custom, handmade, one of a kind Bottlehead Crack. I got this specifically and professionally custom built. So many internal parts were upgraded, swapped out for better alternatives, etc. This does NOT have speedball, but many of us in the community feel as though speedball takes away from the tube magic that Crack offers. So, please be aware that this does not have speedball. It was custom painted using violin varnish on the wood, as well as custom creme colored coating on the top plates. The internals have been fully upgraded and heavily modded. Thus, this will not sound like a typical run of the mill Bottlehead Crack. Everyone who has heard it praises it for sounding so much better. For starters, theres an ALPS RK27 10K upgrade. Many resistors were upgraded to Allen Bradley resistors. The capacitors have been upgraded. The last photo of the parts list is what was purchased (aside from the original kit and paint) to make this amp. It is in excellent condition. I have used it sparingly and have kept it safely on my audio rack for about a year, where it has not moved from until I photographed it today. It works like a dream. Im including two of my favorite NOS tubes. I prefer my sound to lean more neutral/bright with this amp, so the tubes I chose lean this way. Ive certainly put in warmer sounding tubes, too, and you cant go wrong either way. The top plate is not secured. It lifts up, as you can see, and merely sits atop the base. Someone (Im not the builder of this) can easily secure it better than I know how to. I will ship this in the way that I received it. I received it plastic wrapped in several layers, to keep it in tact, and I will ensure it and bubble wrap it very well. See photos for more info.

(I am the first build/owner) Have previously assembled two other sets of Bottlehead mono block amplifiers before. This S.E.X. is currently wired for 8ohm speakers. (recommend 90db and above efficient speakers being used). Exceptional sound quality is produced by this amplifier. For your consideration: a used Bottlehead PT-3 Transformer. This was part of a Bottlehead Crack OTL headphone amplifier kit that was built in 2010 and was eventually “frankensteined” into other experiments and projects. The transformer worked when last used, but I have no other specifications to share. This was designed for use with standard 120V US mains power. The grey spray-paint on the bell cover can easily be stripped, or simply sprayed over. I have used gun blueing on other similar projects, which also worked well. Item is suggested for somebody familiar with Bottlehead projects, or as a replacement part. I cannot offer any additional technical assistance.
