SoundLab speakers have evolved over the years from the days of the Dynastat you see here. The Dynastat was one of their earlier model where it was a hybrid design with a 10 subwoofer attached to a tall and narrow electrostatic panels. For an electrostatic panel to go full range on its own (like their current designs), the panels have to go big so this hybrid design was a way to offer a full range sound without the size. And the Dynastat was a perfectly executed design in this regard. Frequency range is about 30 Hz to 20 kHz with a sensitivity of 94 dB and a nominal impedance of 8 ohm. The Dynastat is essentially a four speaker design with two electrostatic panels connected to the two subwoofers by having the panels slide into the front of the sub and the speaker cables plugged into their respective color coded speaker posts. The panel is about 72.5 tall and 18.25 wide with the sub adding 20 of depth. For a speaker of this vintage and price now, they are incredible sounding speakers. Big on scale and depth with an amazing holographic imaging ability when listening to vocals. Due to its ability to project a big presence in your listening room, careful placement of the speakers will be necessary, so experiment them by moving them around in your room to achieve their best performance. In our opinion, at this price of under $1,300, they are a best buy when you want an overall top notch achiever. Previous owner had the subwoofer cabinet refinished to match the finish of his rack and furniture so if you want to change it to a different color, it can be easily done. Otherwise, it looks good with minor scuff marks/nicks here and there but nothing major. Grille cloth on the panels look good and age appropriate. Due to its size and fragile, speakers are for local pickup at the store only or you can arrange your own carrier to come and pick them up. Terms and conditions - PLEASE READ! Changes to PAYPAL refund: Due to recent policy changes at PAYPAL where they will not be refunding their portion of the PAYPAL fees, any refund that is requested to us will be treated likewise.
