These are the new Signature Edition which have the same transformers as the Grand Reference and also the same output ( 120 watts). In listening tests beside the Grand Reference, I believe I preferred this new Ref Two Signature. I think the REF Two had better power transformers and the Grand Reference had better output transformers. Since this set has both of the better transformers it may be the best version to have. These are a demo pair with about 60 hours on them. Retail on these top of the line mono blocks is $48,000 with tubes. Canary Audio C1300. Canary Audio is known for their preamps. This preamp was acquired in a trade for a power amp. I planned on using this amp with a power amp I bought from TMR. I returned the power amp in favor of an Integrated amp which was a perfect match for my extremely high efficient speakers. So now this wonderful preamp becomes redundant in my system. About this preamp. It is a 2021 model. The original owner cut a hole out above the rectifier tube so that larger rectifiers can be rolled. I replaced all the tubes (with JJ tubes identical to the original OEM tubes) and they have basically zero hours on them. This preamp also comes with the Remote which is a $750 upgrade (why the hell does it cost that much LOL?) The preamp itself retails at $7900. If you have a high end headphone system or 2 channel speaker system, you owe it to yourself to hear it with a truly high end preamp. From my experiences, a preamp will make a more positive impact than a higher end dac. I had a Rockna Wavelight which has a very good preamp, but the Canary was a big improvement over the built in Preamp of the Rockna. Tube amplifiers have always sounded magical but when you add 300B tubes into the mix, it becomes heavenly. And this is what the CA-309 is all about. 300B Push-Pull Parallel Mono Block.
