Had briefly for second system, more power than I needed. 350 into 8ohm, most my BPs are 6 ohm so this was bit high total distortion at high levels esp. on 4 to 6 ohm speakers. The 0.1 thd doesnt go up with watts as other amp but does get hotter and high with more ohm loads. Has a replace fan and some abrasion and wear marks from years of use. Works as should and the soft power on needs some kind of amp relay or preamp to power on or off. May need capacitor replacement in future as old amps tend to need this eventually. Parts available several vendors on Ebay when or if needed.

I like Adcom and Onyko amps, but Carver out did all competition in its price range. This retailed around 500 and still holds that value as parts needed to keep working great are readily available on Ebay. Amp has scratches and marks throughout as this has been around about 40 years. Powers up and pounds as it should has on off switch on front ( some Carvers do not have front power switch). Priced to sell and enjoy, may need recaps sometime in the future as all vintage amps do to keep sound clean and distortion free. Working great as of last use. Wont disappoint. I have never open it up. No need so far. Listed below market value to sell. 200 WPC at 8 ohm loads.

The Carver Receiver 2000 Field Power Amplifier. Item is pre-owned but is in great cosmetic condition. Unit powers on and all buttons work but has not been tested further. Receiver has two switch buttons on front that have fallen off and cracked (see photos).

Offered for sale is a used Carver Receiver 2000 Magnetic Field Power Amp. This is a tuner with 200 Watts of power in a light-weight case given the power supplied. The unit has been tested and works. The Phono output has distortion that I cannot resolve but all other outputs work. The receiver is in very good cosmetic condition and this one has the wooden sides that are also in good condition with only a small chip at the very rear of the left side. The Classic Receivers website describes this unit this way... The MXR-2000 can power most any speakers with 200 watts per channel and its Asymetrical Charge-Coupled FM Detector technolongy results in excellent FM Tuning and separation. The Sonic Holography technology is said to give music extreme detail and soundstage. Because of the age and nature of these vintage electronics this unit is being sold AS-IS with no returns.
