Celestion Ditton 22, 33 Midrange driver 4 Ohms

Its fair to say that Celestion hit the perverbial ball out of the park with the original Ditton range They then spent the next 3 decades trying to replicate this success pandering to the fashion of that decade. With hindsight, its probably true to say they failed, although they did have a good go with varying levels of success. The sweet spot of the range in my view runs between the Ditton 22s here and the 33s. Having owned 3 different models in the range I would say it pretty much depends on the room you have. Suffice to say that the 22s are probably more room friendly and aestheticly acceptable in modern environments. The beauty of these speakers is that they work across a wide range of equipment and music genres. Equipment wise I have matched with 70s integrated amps, 80s high power mono blocks, and modern multichannel receivers. It doesnt matter whether the source is analogue or digital. Or the music is dance, rock, jazz or classical. They just sound brilliant... The hard part is finding a really great unmolested pair with original boxes and in near original condition. The drivers need to be in perfect condition, the veener must be smooth and the rear clean (most examples are not). Ive made it easy for you by listing this pair . They tick all those boxes and more!
