Faraday Emperor concrete cabinet Hifi loudspeaker pair. I’ve decided to sell the last pair of Faraday Emperor low density concrete cabinet hifi loudspeakers that I made. I have been using Faraday Towers, so they have not been used very much. I’m going to add information as I go along but I really wanted to get this advert started as I seem to have been putting it off for ages. I will also see if there is much interest, and perhaps find out what a prospective buyer wishes to ask. Some information is available at the other item I’m selling: a diy loudspeaker construction booklet (incidentally my Emperors are not currently bi-wired). The low density concrete vibration free cabinets took a lot of design and construction time. I notice Monitor Audio are also marketing a stone based design with the same philosophy of eliminating colouration caused by panel vibrations. I’m sure that the Hyphn is another significant improvement, but the £70,000 price tag is also a significant consideration. I’ll add more during the week. Faraday concrete hifi loudspeaker construction booklet. Hi, I used to make and sell the superb Faradaysound low density concrete loudspeakers. I designed a cabinet to eliminate panel vibrations, and simply hold the drive units stationary so they can do their job properly, adding or subtracting nothing to/from the intended sound. The results were fantastic according to both What Hifi and Hifi Choice. And of course the people who purchased them! I still use them myself. I will enclose copies of some ‘What Hifi’ and ‘Hifi Choice reviews. Making them was a bit of a labour of love however. Responding to interest, I also created a diy booklet of which I still have a few remaining. Now, they’re only of interest to real hifi enthusiasts, so don’t expect too much. Especially as the drive units suggested in the booklet are not ones you might choose, or would even be available today. But they do describe an interesting project. And it would be entirely possible for someone to take it on and produce the astonishing results that I achieved. There are even some of the models described, and cabinets still available to buy! The 25ish page booklet includes photos of all the models made except the subwoofer which has only the design illustrated. Photos of the mould used clearly shown. I am happy to discuss any questions that I am able to.Not for the faint hearted, but what a sound! And an almost unique beautiful product.Note: the booklet will not be the one shown, but an A4 version for greater detail. There is an active interest in ‘vintage’ hifi loudspeakers. Of course my designs were originally for my own use via a Linn turntable. There are also some new companies around. And of course there is good old eBay where a quick search found several of the drive units I originally used for sale)
