USED; Frank Van Alstine upgraded Dynaco Pat-4 preamp in very nice condition------------------------------------------------------The preamp has been hooked up with headphones anda cd player and sound came out of all of the inputsthis unit has three different inputs for turntables one for HIGH cartridgesone for CERAMIC cartridges and one for LOW OUTPUT CARTRIDGES--------------------------------------------------------------------------The actual Van Alstine circuits are a complete redesign of the Dynaco circuits. The original were discrete Bi-polar transistors. The new circuits are F.E.T. OP amp based. ------------------------------------When Van Alstine redoes a PAT-4 preamp he takes all the original boards out and throws them away. He then installs his own designed and built boards and only used the chassis, transformer, input and output terminals switches and tone controls. He installed ALPS stepped volume and balance controls. It is basically a new preamp in the old chassis. DYNACO PAT-4 VINTAGE Stereo Preamp - Clean and Working.

Please note my articles are advertised elsewhere, basically where I dont have to pay a 15% shares for sale made. Therefore, I reserve the right to cancell the auction at any moment without prior advice. Up for sale set of vintage Dynacos. Both on European 220 volts. Dynaco ST 35 power amp. One of the bests ever power amps in hi-fi history?. Yes. The sweetest and most musical of the Dynaco tubes power amps?. Yes, by far. Obviously with its just 175 watts per channel into 8 ohms it doesnt go as far as its big sister the ST 70 (35 watts), or the more powerfull monoblocks (Mark 2,3,4). But where it reaches, and its very far, the hi-fi pleasure is infinite. Ive always used it with Tannoy coaxials. 10, 12 most of the time, but it is also able to move my 15 385/8. This last combination using the 15 as a near field monitor is one of the bests sounds Ive ever heard. Along the years Ive been also able to see (listen) how this little jewel gave a good run to some very expensive sacred cows. It seems the magic on this amp relies on the design of its mythical Z 565 output transformers. The ST 35 is in a fantastic cosmetic and technical condition. As much more, new owner should think on new input tubes in not too long. Output ones are still in very good condition. New rca sockets were fitted. Also banana plugs for speakers. The 4 and 16 ohms outputs were annulated (reversible) and only the 8 ohms output is available. Dynaco PAT 4 pre-amp. A really good partner to match the ST 35. Solid state construction. Not collectors condition. A couple of marks on front panel (not dramatic) and some or the serigraphies (volume and On/off button mainly) a bit erased. Technically the preamp works and sounds, but it will appreciate, at least, a deep clean of contacts as cracks, pops and noises when any control is operated are terrible.
