This unit was a beta test unit, hence the low serial number of 112. Plastic was never removed from the screen. It sat in my basement after testing and was seldom ever charged, maybe 10 or 12 times. Not sure about battery condition. It is sticky to the touch. It does power up as seen in the photos. There is a picture of some discoloration on the lower left corner of the unit.

EMPIRE 6000/IV Phono Cartridge Hard to find those few EMPIREs at this level. I tested the 6000 against a 2000 and a 5000 and there were audible differences. It surprised me. The 6000 is a more natural and live sound. Here it is mounted on new alloy headshell and has new lead wires and a new aftermarket diamond stylus from Kyowa (Japan). Please note that EBay comparable prices are often errant and do not reflect anything beyond the cartridge body, uncounted with no stylus.
