The lower external front sited dial controls below the chrome metal strip, so often missing, are Volume, Bass, Treble and Off/ all work well. The deck is a Slimline Garrard auto/manual turntable 4 speed part auto. (16, 33, 45 & 78rpm). It will play records of all sizes (7, 10 & 12). Unfortunately the original rubber mat has gone brittle so a felt one has been put in its place. Happy to include the old mat should you wish to keep. The arm head can be easily removed which is ideal to check stylus. The cartridge is not the original but a later Acos has been put in its place which works ok as far as I can tell. A photo copy of the original turntable instructions is included.The player has undergone a careful clean This BUSH SRP31C was a BEST BUY as in WHICH MAGAZINE back in 1963. This was no cheapo machine too as no flimsy hardboard construction which the youngsters bought back then.This will look brilliant in any room, or a gem as a theatre or film prop. The mains plug incidentally has been correctly fitted with a low amp fuse. However the amplifier has not been serviced as far as I am aware. Also as not been PAT tested I will remove the mains plug on collection after demonstrating it working (will be included) unless told otherwise.A time warp gem. I am selling as fulling working on collection but if no takers may sell as spares/repair at a later date so can post. To inspect it now is amazing to reveal a consumer product over 60 years old, The leathercloth covering has been cleaned there is a slight scuff on the top but other than that its fine. All the chrome hasps,hinges and studs gleaming and unscratched, the colour co-ordinated Garrard turntable with black turntable mat.It uses a 2 stage amplifies with ECL 86s in push-pull into 2 speakers including a Grundig tweeter. Plenty of volume and bass its a really nice looking record player.. I have replaced the original cartridge and stylus with a new Modern one so it will play stereo and mono at 45 and 33 RPM It works exceptionally well as expected and the deck has been overhauled removing all aged sticky grease and re- lubricated. This is not a rare record player, many thousands were produced and was a great seller for The Rank Organisation but I guarantee you will not find a finer example anywhere Would prefer collection in person is possible.
