Up for NO RESERVE auction is a LIKE NEW Goldring 1006 Moving Magnet Phono Cartridge in MINT condition as it was only mounted and used for audition over a span of less than 3 hours before being swapped to other cartridges I purchased around the same time for comparison. Headshell shown in some of the photos is NOT included. I bought this cartridge brand new at full retail $399 and is simply selling off various unused phono cartridges I have in collection as a result of being bored at home during the pandemic. IMHO this cartridge offers great clarity, body and dynamics slightly better than the 2M Blue I just sold, but it boils down to personal preference. This would be a great upgrade to popular cartridges such as Ortofon 2M Red, Audio Technica VM95E or Nagoaka M-110. There is absolutely nothing wrong or damage to this phono cartridge. Reduced Moving Mass The 1000 series uses a unique ultra-low-mass, micro-miniature Alnico V magnet made to a tolerance that can be achieved by no other manufacturer worldwide. Welded to the magnet is a gold plated nickel tie-bar which provides an earth path for vinyl static charge build up and stabilizes the cantilever in unwanted vibrational modes.
