Up for sale is a pair of unique, high quality Vintage KEF Model 103.2 Reference Series speakers - these are handmade in England, and are quite the speakers for any audiophile. Both speakers were tested and perform very nicely, all drivers tested well. Reference Series Model 103.2 (1980-85) Model 103.2 was the successor to the highly regarded 103, and continued with the same two-way closed-box format, using an 8” bextrene coned bass driver which used the new three mounting-point chassis to allow mechanical decoupling from the cabinet. It was designed using KEF’s ‘total system design’ approach where drive units, filter networks and enclosures are studied and developed together to achieve a targeted response. The result was a loudspeaker which achieved a broad frequency response with optimum efficiency and yet a surprisingly small enclosure of just 19 litres. Consistent with all models in the Reference range, 103.2 included S-Stop protection circuitry, and all production systems benefited from KEF’s Reference methodology which matched the response of every system to within 1dB of the design reference, with each pair matched to within 0.5dB of each other.

If you are looking at these, then you know what they are and how spectacular they sound. The heavy duty speaker terminals are really nice because they can do spades or banana plugs and they easily tighten for a solid connection. These have been tested and both speakers are in working order. They are black and in good cosmetic condition. Please see the pictures where there are some minor scratches with a few small dings. Pardon the grandiosity here, but these speakers have made me who I am today. My career as a recording engineer spans over the course of 32 years and these are the only speakers I can trust. Each speaker will be carefully packaged in separate boxes. Please feel free to ask me any questions.

KEF Model 103 speakers, pair, mid 1970s vintage. They have been internally modified and wired for bi-amping, but can be used as standard as I have been doing since a while with an adaptor provided in the sale. The DIN connector feeds the tweeters. Fairly good cosmetic condition with some scratches, dings and blemishes commemorating the age of these beautiful sounding speakers from the mid 70s. The square front baffles can be turned in all directions, I currently have them with the tweeter turned to the outside... No guarantee and no returns as I am private seller, but will guarantee that all drivers are working as intended. Also happy to let you audition them to show they are working perfectly as they are still wired up! Local pickup from Lincoln preferred as very heavy, but can deliver within a reasonable radius!
