tested but I couldnt get this to work ie the speakers werent driven. It powered on, the cd player ejected, the fm tuner tunes, the Graphic equaliser turns on and one of the tape decks plays. but just couldnt seem to get the speakers to do anything, possibly user error. In excellent condition as per the pics, has been really well looked after. Will package this most probably in pairs to ship, decent discounts available if you are willing to collect from Portsmouth as it will save a tonne in postage! --> Kenwood KA-V8500 Dolby Pro Logic Amplifier + Remote, Box, Manual • MINOR FAULTS This AV amplifier has been in the family since new and comes from a smoke-free home. It is a Dolby Surround Pro Logic amplifier and has a plethora of AV inputs, both composite and S-video. It is in very good condition, with some minor small scratches on the surface. The amp is in working order, but has three minor faults:The amplifier is balanced towards the left channel. I.e. the right channel is quieter. Could a separate power amplifier fix this?I have tested the remote control, and not all buttons work. The following buttons dont appear to transmit: VDP, Seat, Up, Right, Cinema Screen, Source Direct, Volume UpWhen using the volume control from the remote, the volume knob sometimes struggles a bit. No problem when adjusting the volume by hand. The device inputs can be renamed, but because of the remote issue with the right arrow, it doesnt appear to be possible to rename them back from what I set them as. A universal remote should be able to sort this out. Because of the problems above it is being sold as parts-only. This amp has been in regular use and these are the only issues that I am aware of, but please do bear in mind that it is being sold as parts-only and there is always the possibility that other issues could become apparent. This is a 6 KHz AM filter supplied by Kenwood as a replacement for the stock filters found inside the Kenwood R-5000 receiver and the TS-450, TS-850S, TS- 930, TS-940S and TS-950 transceivers. Kenwood supplied a filter with the R-5000 receiver, but it did not have very good skirt characteristics and this allowed interference from adjacent stations, whistles, and heterodynes. Kenwood released this upgraded filter which had better skirts and thus provides for a better receiving experience, but the filter was an investment over the original price and many owners chose to avoid the upgrade. As a result, this filter is highly sought after, but not so commonly found for sale. We have previously sold a number of Kenwood filters here on Ebay, but less commonly offer this YK-88A-1 filter. Installation of the filter in the R-5000 is easy. You remove the top cover for the R-5000 using a Phillips screwdriver (8 screws to remove) and then locate the stock AM filter inside the receiver. It is also held into place by 2 Phillips screws. Once you remove the screws for the filter, it unplugs and you then plug in this YK-88A-1 filter and use the 2 screws to secure it into place. You then replace the top cover and you are done with the installation....it is that easy and there is no soldering required. We expect that this process will take about 15 minutes to complete. We have not installed this filter inside any of the Kenwood transceivers, but suspect that installation is also easy and non-technical.
