In the high end space, Krell needs no introduction. I purchased the 5 channel 1500 watt amplifier new from an authorized dealer in Boston. I no longer need it. The amp produces an absolutely amazing life like sound and in great condition as the pictures show. One channel does not work so the amp has been running at 375 watts per channel. The 5 channel can be repaired at Krell and the prices reflects it. I have been using it as a 4 channel amp and truly enjoyed it. The amp is a beast and weights 125 lb. Beautiful mint condition Krell Showcase 5 Power Amplifier. Black, 5 channels @ 125 watts per channel. Comes with amp and power cable. Fantastic home theater amplifier with commanding power. I also just sent it to Krell to get it checked out and ensure it is performing perfectly to spec. It checked out and they replaced a few capacitors to add to it's longevity. This service cost over $500, but it means you can be assured that this mint condition amp is also performing flawlessly to Krell's specifications. Here is Krell's verification process after the capacitor replacement: ... the unit will be bench-tested, followed by at least 24hrs of burn-in time, followed by another bench test. Finally the unit is sound checked. This amp is very heavy at 60 lbs and will be boxed, shipped, and insured appropriately. Powers on/off with power button or via 12VDC trigger. If you are looking for one of these little monsters, this is the one you want. It was sent to Krell in June of 23, and has had all capacitors replaced. It has been cleaned, tested and verified as meeting original specifications. There was a recall on some of these for a potential overheating problem. That recall has also been done. This unit is as close as you can come to new. Beautiful cosmetic condition and now ready for another 12 to 15 years of trouble-free service. Don’t be fooled by the others listed. Their capacitors are long past designed service life, and need to be replaced. I have done the upgrades and paid the freight. This amp has plenty of power, and is very detailed. You will not be disappointed with this one. This amp is adult owned and has been meticulously maintained. There is a small mark on the case from shipping, but otherwise, is pristine. Sorry, the original owner did not retain the original packing material when I purchased it. This is a very powerful amplifier, rated @ 250 watts/channel into 8 ohms; 500 watts/channel into 4 ohms in stereo mode, and 1000 watts into 8 ohms bridged mono mode. It is a dual mono design, fully complimentary and balanced from input to output. The input/driver stage is class A. The output stage is class AB using proprietary output devices created by Motorola exclusively for Krell.
