Testauszug: ...wenn man sich dem Verstärker nun von der klanglichen Seite nähert, dann sind ihm die wesentlichen Eigenheiten erhalten geblieben. Um es kurz zu machen: Der Grundklang ist genauso stabil wie vorher und trotzdem wirkt dieser etwas feiner aufgelöst. Das Obertonspektrum, von Cembalo und Konzertflügel, ist sehr fein wahrnehmbar und die Grobdynamik, wie sie Bassimpulse bieten, wird schön straff mit dosierter Wucht bis in den Subbass übertragen. Der Verstärker bietet dem Ohr keine Aufdringlichkeiten und klingt damit insgesamt sehr ausgewogen. Die Durchhörbarkeit in den Tiefmitten scheint sogar höher zu sein als zuvor. Auf ein überzogenes Hochtonlifting hat Marantz verzichtet, somit bleiben alle Klangfarben sehr real und es gibt keine Härten und Schärfen bei den Blechbläsern. Auch Gesangsstimmen behalten eine natürliche Intimität ohne mit übersteigerten Sibilanten den Eindruck zu vermitteln, dass die Gesangsstimme unmittelbar vor einem stehe. Alles bleibt im Rahmen. Der Bereich der Mitten hinterlässt den Eindruck, als wäre er etwas weniger in den Vordergrund gerückt als beim normalen 15er. Die zusätzliche Steigerung der Dämpfung des Übersprechens der Stereokanäle ineinander gibt der akustischen Bühne einen noch besseren Ausgangspunkt. Egal, ob die Stepptänzerin ihre Runden bis in die Tiefen des Bühnenhauses zieht, um dann wieder in einer breiten Runde nach vorn an die Rampe zu kommen, die Abbildung wird beeindruckend unterstützt. Auch bei räumlich breit aufgestellten Orchestern mit einem tiefen Podium sind die Instrumentalisten, abhängig von der Aufnahme, sehr gut zu lokalisieren. Die feindynamische Aufarbeitung von leisen musikalischen Details liegt ihm genauso wie die schon genannten wuchtigen Impulse. Dabei behält der Verstärker mit Lautsprechern, die einen gemäßigten Impedanzverlauf aufweisen, stets die Kontrolle in den Dynamikstufen, ohne Grundtonverfärbungen zu erzeugen.
