Vintage Marantz (Philips) CD Player, Model 63T. Been stored away for years and tested last year and was fine but now won’t turn on. Pretty sure it can be fixed by someone who knows what they are doing.

Up for sale is my Marantz CD63 SE with modifications/upgrades. I meant to upgrade this cd player for me but due to lack of time and budget I had to stop making more upgrades and decided to keep my old unit for now. It is in good cosmetic condition with very few marks . Remote control included. Many caps were replaced and/or uprated, some completely removed and more caps added (Panasonic, Wima, Arcotronics & Mundorf for output, Styroflex, Elna Silmic & Cerafine-reclaimed ) The HDAM section was completely removed, headphone section disconnected, the Crystal clock relocated, output muting section completely removed, sockets DIP-8 fitted for opamps, output relays with dc protection fitted and new power transformer for the relays . Any questions please ask PS- you are more than welcome to bring your cd player for a comparison. PPS- just to answer the question why are you keeping the old unit? Im keeping that unit because it has more mods than this one .

For sale is my Marantz CD63B. As can be seen from the pictures it is excellent condition - almost mint. It uses the legendary Philips CDM1 transport which many would consider to be one of the best transports ever made. All the electrolytic capacitors have been replaced not just the power supply (pre-amplifier and laser PCB, power supply and servo PCB, and decoder PCB) and so given that it has the CDM1 transport, it will likely go for another 40 years without a problem. Needless to say, it is in perfect working order. If you have not heard one of these or the similar Philips CD101, you might be shocked at how good they sound. I have the Philips version which I intend to keep and I am only selling the Marantz along with a few other components to reduce my collection prior to moving house. Marantz CD63 mk.II KI Signature Has issues, it does play. Sometimes it can take it a minute to realise there is a CD in there. When it does play, it doesnt like anything with scratches Also the eject button can be unresponsive. It does have the remote control so it you can eject using that.
