Preowned McIntosh Audiophile Stereo Receiver W/ Original Box & Remote PLEASE READ. Used, but in very good condition. Please see pictures. The remote is also in good condition. Please note there is a “film” or something on the remote, so it’ll need some time with a Q-Tip and alcohol, but the film does come off. The remote was lost some time ago and, was under a couch or something, so it got really dirty and dusty. It does function though. Comes with original box & remote. Pease note I am selling this as is, for parts or repair only, with no returns. Here’s why: * I am not familiar with these units at all. * I was unable to test it with speakers. I did not have the required cables. I did put it on AM and FM, and it tuned in stations well (I hooked up an antenna). I plugged in headphones, and it sounded great. The VU meters responded as they should. * All lights seem to function well. * The VU meters work as they should when put on “Outputs 1”, but when I switch to “Outputs 2”, the VU meters do not do anything. Again, maybe I just don’t understand these, but I wanted to disclose it. * I’m unsure what the percentage figure means, but it reads in the 20’s in the pictures. * Just comes with what’s in pictures. No cords are included. * It powers up and lights up. All functions seem to work. * The primary reason I am selling this as is, is because I can not fully test it. It works. Volume cranks and gets loud, but with the cheap speaker, it didn’t sound great, of course, but all sounded decent and clear. No over-modulation, or blown channel, etc. I did not try Output 2, but Output 1 worked fine. On a side note, that percentage readout “mystery” at the bottom of the display I had mentioned in the listing is for volume. Of course I am sure the viewers knew this already. Sorry. I can’t believe I didn’t put two and two together in that regard when I did this posting. Please also note I just located the original power cord for it.

Wonderful sounding receiver for both digital sources and phono. The 200W x 2 channel power amp is a rock solid monster, with deep controlled bass on my JBL L100 reissues. The moving magnet phono stage sounds great with my Rega RP6 / Exact cartridge combo, with detailed analog sound and excellent imaging. The AM / FM tuner works great and both an AM and FM antenna are included. Relisting as prior auction winner was a no-show Original owner. Purchased new about 20 years ago. I have the unit power cord and manuals I do not have the original box nor remote control. Not sure if it came with one. Have used it most of its life as a preamp as it has nice digital analog, converters and used volume adjustment through separate programmable remote control or via the knob directly on the unit. The lights in the panel need to be replaced to provide the green backlight for the McIntosh logos. The input selector knob is not functioning correctly. It works, and you can move it between the different inputs, but it jumps around and takes a little bit of finagling to get it on the exact input. I have not looked into the repair of this, and what that may entail. The physical volume knob on the unit works, and the volume goes up or down by four units on a scale to 100 with every click… Not sure if this is exactly normal but functions fine in that regard. Two scratches on the top portion of the bezel, which I have highlighted in the pictures. Overall though excellent cosmetic and physical condition aside from this. I’ve only used it with one input as a music streamer, (or CD player /transport at one point in time ) and always had a separate universal remote so none of these issues bother me. I upgraded to a new unit to support a turntable and I’m looking for this one to go to a new home. I am asking for local pick up as package and shipping would be quite expensive (~$100+ to have this packaged up and sent out) however, if someone really wants that I will consider it passing on the costs to the buyer.
