This is a very nice phono stage, Ive used it for 2-1/2 years with Ortofon M2 (MM), Cadenza Black and Benz Micro Glider SL (MC) cartridges. Reconfiguring my HiFi setup, dont want my family to have to figure out what to do with it when Im gone (no plans, but you never know). Not a fan of returns. Musical Surroundings Nova Phonomena phono stage. The unit is in excellent cosmetic condition and functions as intended. It is quite good sounding and can be used with wall power or optionally as a battery powered unit completely disconnected from the grid. If you look at the picture of the rear of the unit you can see it has a number of settings for gain and impedance. The settings are for each channel separately and are easy to adjust via dip switches that are completely accessible. There is an LED on the front of the unit that flashes red when the batteries are charging, stable red when they are fully charged and green when the unit is in battery mode. There is a switch on the front to go from battery to wall power. The unit can be used in charging mode as well as when it is fully charged. When used the first time after the batteries have been disconnected, the unit will take a while to charge. During that initial charge the amplification may not be functional. The first time I did this I thought it didnt work but read the manual. I recently replaced the batteries (2) which are not particularly inexpensive, but these have very few hours on them.
