Wrap over aluminum case, tuned suspension. Front loader, which means CD is mounted in a manual swing opening drawer rather than a motorised sled, CD being kept in place with a magnetic puck as in the more expensive Naim top loaders, rather than an internal clamp . All intended to remove a set of motor voltages and magnetic field from the CD player, and isolate the disc from vibration. Parts or not working Sale. This CD3 is good cosmetic condition, is highly modified but needs repair. Not supplied with a remote. First off the mods.- Pink FIsh Media (PFM) clock module - Teddy Regs for the output section. It was converted for use with an outboard power supply (prior to my ownership) hence the non-naim mains cable / plate to hold the grommet and fuse. Why Spares and Repair?- DAC and SAA chips have been replaced and the PCBA damaged (was like this when I got it). Ive socketed the DAC and repaired traces with jumpers (see pics).- The player emits what can only be described as digital nosie until it has warmed up (usually 10 minutes). Usually this is a sign the TDA DAC is on its way out. Ive not repalced the DAC (I dont play CDs anymore). No guarantee the DAC is the cause. There may be other fault modes.- Stop for the swing arm mech has cracked and is glued in position with RTV.- There are a few additional holes drilled in the base. If you are outside the UK mainland please ask us for a shipping quote BEFORE placing a bid or clicking “Buy it Now”. If you dont ask, it means you will accept our quote. We do not cut corners on shipping, we only use reliable shipping companies, and we dont profit from the shipping prices we quote. 3. For any item where there is no original packaging the shipping costs include the cost to package the item to ensure safe delivery. Larger items may be shipped on a pallet - but this usually will be stated in the listing. 4. If you win the auction or buy the item, we expect you to pay and we will issue a non payment against you if you dont. Such auctions/listings cost us time (and therefore money). Requests to cancel will be rejected.
