This listing is for a Very Rare NYtech Audio CA202 - Working with Manual. The unit has been PAT and function tested and appears to be working as expected but could do with a service.Cosmetcially there are very few marks however there is wear on the writing due to age and use. Power output: 25 watts per channel into 8? (stereo) Frequency response: 20Hz to 20kHz Total harmonic distortion: 0.05% Input sensitivity: 3mV (MM), 100mV (line) Signal to noise ratio: 63dB (MM) From the front the CA202 looks identical to the CA252 but the rear panel has no preamp out / poweramp in “link” socket. There is also no MC option with the CA202 as part of the cost saving was to combine the power supply and phono stage PCBs into a single PCB with no MC option.

Ive had this tuner for a long time. It came to me with its marks on the casing but Ive done my best to look after it whilst its been in my posession. I dont think Ive seen another one since. I first heard this tuner about 20 years ago and was absolutely blown away by its performance. I was amazed when I found one for sale a few months later - I had to have it. The FMT 2 does have a problem where it doesnt produce any output till after its warmed up - usually about 2 or 3 mins after being switched on. I contacted Nytech who still service Ion Systems and Nytech equipment and they said they could repair it. I havent got around to sending it to them. They also advised that issue is definitely going to be with the FMT and not the X-PAK. This hasnt bothered me that much in the past because Ive just powered it up and given it a couple of minutes to warm up. Its always been the same for years and well worth the wait, however it would be nice to have the remedial work done as its a very special piece of British Hi-fi. Apparently this tuner was known as the Naim Beater - I can see why. Local collection welcome from SS1 or I can post.

Please find for sale a vintage Nytech CA 252 amplifier. This item is in pretty cosmetic condition with a few blemishes here and there. It turns on but thats as much testing as I can do as I dont have anything to attach it to with the correct connectors. There is a sticker on it which appears to indicate it has been serviced at some stage in its life. Please study the pictures as they form an important part of the description. Please contact me with any questions and Ill do my best to respond. This item can be seen working and also picked up in person if neccessary. Im in NG9, 5 minutes from J25 of the M1.
