And this amp is stable at low impedances, so its compatible with a wide range of speakers. All that power comes from a large toroidal transformer and the amps high-bias Class A/AB amplifier design (more on that later.) My hands-on experience with the Parasound Halo HINT 6 We like to set up sound system demonstrations here at Crutchfield, so we can really get a sense of how different components perform under real-world conditions. Sometimes we assemble a system thats all made by the same manufacturer. Other times we mix and match, like we did when I auditioned this muscular integrated amplifier in our training room at Crutchfield HQ. I chose this amp specifically because it offers 160 watts per channel, and I wanted to see how that kind of power would drive a couple of pairs of audiophile-quality bookshelf speakers. I had the opportunity to audition Wharfedale EVO4.1s and ELAC Uni-Fi Reference UBR62s — each seated atop solid stands to reduce vibration and get them at ideal ear level. And I gave them a little help with the low end by adding a GoldenEar ForceField 3 subwoofer. In my opinion, the absolute best way to gauge subtle differences in performance between two sets of rock star speakers is to put them in the same room, give them each the same amount of power, and put them through their paces with the same playlist, so thats what I did. The HINT 6s Class A/AB amplifier delivered power smoothly and efficiently, allowing the Wharfedales to showcase the extreme fidelity afforded by their Kevlar cone and AMT tweeter, while revealing a slightly warmer, fuller sound from ELACs three-way design with soft-dome tweeter. As I expected, each pair sounded great in its own way, and I was able to identify characteristics of each signature sound that I could use when recommending them to customers with different tastes. The upshot: I would choose an amp like the Halo HINT 6 as the centerpiece of a sound system because of its proven ability to get the best out of any gear I might choose to connect. Throughout the next decade, I may replace my turntable, get new speakers, or even upgrade my CD player. Its nice to know that an excellent integrated amp like this one can be the heart of any system, no matter what my fickle heart and ears might fancy next. Parasound D/AC-1100HD DAC acquired many years ago from a professional Studio going out business. I plugged this unit in, and it does Not power up. Its not the fuse. Cosmetic condition shows scuffs, scratches, and marks. I removed the top cover and took a couple of pictures in various light conditions so you can see what youre getting. The insides look clean. The outsides show use and wear, and some surface oxidation on the case. Please view the auction photos since they are the most important part of this description. I am selling my Parasound Halo integrated amp. It was purchased from an authorized dealer. This one is a classy silver,works perfectly and looks great and is complete with double box ,manuals, power cord and remote . Uses MOS FETs and puts out 160 w/ch into 8 ohms and 240 into 4 ohms. If you are looking at this you know what it is. There are many positive pro reviews in this in fact I remember thinking that I do not recall seeing so many reviews on an time in a long time. Parasound 200 Pre Preamplifier and DAC. I bought this less than a year ago from Audio Advisor, to go along with the Parasound 2125v2 amplifier I also have for sale in another listing. It has been used little and is in exceptional condition. I have the original box and packing material and the owners manual. The shipping box is a double box. Comes with the original remote control. The 200 Pre is quite versatile. Besides being a very nice stereo preamplifier it is also a very good DAC and even has an mm/mc phono stage so it covers most of the bases you will need for a preamp. Also has a high pass crossover built in should you want to use it. You can see the various connections if you look at the pictures. This one works perfectly as does the accompanying remote.. Here for your consideration is a Parasound 200 Pre stereo preamplifier with digital analog converter (DAC) in great condition. It works perfectly and sounds wonderful. The preamplifier looks great, but has some scuffing from stacking and some minor marks on the case and the edges of the faceplate. Nothing very noticeable. This is a very versatile and full-featured preamplifier and as mentioned, it has a built-in DAC. This is a high-resolution, 192Khz Burr-Brown IC based DAC. Parasound says it is superior to the ones included in most source components. I wont go into all the details of this component, other than to say it requires a separate power amplifier to get sound beyond headphones. There is plenty of into available online and most who are interested in this know what it is and what its capabilities are. It comes with the owners manual, original remote control and a heavy-duty power cord. Please look at the pictures, which show the details of condition and inputs/outputs. The sound is clean and detailed, with a very nice stereo presentation, basically amazing! There are no clicks, noise, clicks or pops of any kind. It will ship in the original Parasound box and packing, which is adequate to protect the preamp and help to ensure safe arrival. Please see my other auctions for a set of rack-mount ears to allow this to be rack-mounted, as well as a pair of Parasound Classic 275 power amplifiers that are a perfect match for this wonderful preamp.
