This is a fantastic sounding unit, very dynamic and expansive sounding, with a deep soundstage and never harsh. The smooth vivid presentation of sound that this Pioneer player produces is immediately apparent from the moment you press play. With Pioneers proprietary Legato Link Conversion on board, the sound quality is almost analogue like. This player punches well above its weight in refinement. The transport is the Stable Platter Mechanism which is found in a number of very high CD players including Wadia. The headphone output is also of excellent quality and drives my Quad planar headphones with authority and ease. This CD player is solid as a rock and all functions work perfectly. It reads and navigates discs lightning quick and very quietly. The drawer is as smooth as butter in its operation. This is truly stunning CD player and comes with its original remote. An enthusiasts piece, the Trichord Genesis is a robust and professional working Class A CD player which employs a stable platter and requires the CD to be placed in the tray upside down. Among other modifications, Trichord Research enhanced this player with its Clock 2 System. Outputs include standard line out and a coaxial for connection to your DAC. Trichord have taken a humble Pioneer CD player and upgraded the electronics to change it into a truly high end performer.
