Just some slight cosmetic discolouration of grey SNAIC lead - thats all. Sounds superb. This ultra high quality phono preamp screws onto the corner brace of a Linn LP12 turntable (3 screws included) and plugs straight into the base of a Linn arm - eg Ittok or Ekos. The arm plug on this example is the original metal Prefix plug, but it has been modified, so that the left and right signal channel leads can be kept completely apart. The last photo above shows this Prefix fitted to a Linn LP12, for illustrative purposes only (The LP12 is not included in this sale). The earth lead on this Prefix has been fitted with a handy phono plug (the Prefixs earth wire is connected to the earth on the phono plug) so that it can be simply plugged into any phono socket on an amp to earth the Prefix. Or, the plug could simply be cut off, if you wish to connect the Prefix to an amps dedicated phono earth. The Naim Prefix requires a separate power supply - eg a Naim Flatcap or HiCap or the internal power supply supplied by some Naim amps eg Supernait 2. The idea of the Naim Prefix is that it dramatically shortens the (loss inducing) phono signal pathway from arm to amp and removes the thick arm cable that can give set up problems on some LP12s.
