Revox B225 in excellent condition, Recapped and Service two years ago and very little used since.Everything works as it should. Good display - no leak. New illumination.The 2 prong power connector was replaced with the standard IEC 3 prong connector so that you can use any standard IEC power cord that you want.Please Note that this is a later production unit with the best Philips die-cast zinc CDM-1 Deck. Something that definitely is not made anymore today....The drawer contains the whole mechanism in it. It is not a plastic tray which takes the disc, but the whole metal mechanism of Philips CDM-1 comes out of the player. There are no belts so it will last much longer than the other belt based transports.The B225 is virtually indestructible. It was the first Revox CD player and is arguably the Most Robust and Durable.Worldwide selectable voltage. Its currently set to 120V.Please examine all photos to assess excellent condition. No Return on vintage HiFi gear please.Will be very well packaged for safe shipping. Ive had this CD player for about 30 years, purchased from its original owner.This player hails from around 1985 - 86 and is in almost mint condition.Its a slightly unusual player in that it works as a 14 bit machine with 4 times oversampling.The build quality of this CD player shows its heritage with Studer and professional studios.I had laid this CD player up as it was beginning to play up a bit, until I found an electronics engineer who was able to service the Revox. He told me that virtually every capacitor was well out of spec when he examined the player...yet it was still able to play - he was very impressed with the sturdy nature of the player. Once serviced (about 18 months ago) at a cost of £228, it now plays nicely with an older analogue type of sound.The controls are a bit clunky and the logic can be a bit slow, but from memory it was always like that.The CD disc sometimes lifts when the drawer opens...but again I think its always done this in my ownership.The player supports remote control, but Ive never had a remote controller.The Revox power socket has been replaced with a standard IEC socket, however this is a reversible mod and I still have the Revox socket and mains lead if originality is essential.There is the original Revox manual with the CD player too.Due to the delicate nature of such a venerable machine (plus Id hate it to get damaged after all these years) this will need to be collected (from Manchester - which is preferable so you can see and hear the Revox in action) or meet up.These machines seem to go for silly money (even as spares).Please check out the photos attached for your enjoyment. This remote adapter plugs into the back of the Studer A725, Revox B126/B225/B226 CD player and allows it to be controlled from any universal remote programmed for Sony DVD. You may be saying to yourself, but, these CD players have a built-in IR receiver and can be controlled by the Revox B201, B201CD or B205 remotes. The problem Im trying to solve is the genuine Revox remote is hard to find, expensive and well just plain ugly and hard to use (for all functions other than Play/Next and Power Off you need to hold the * button down, stupid!). Another problem is the Revox remotes uses a very old IR protocol which isnt supported by pre-programmed remotes and cant be learned by learning by remotes like the Logitech Harmony or Philips Pronto. With this wireless adapter you can control the Studer A725, Revox B126/B225/B226 using any universal remote that can control a Sony DVD which is nearly all of them out there. This unit plugs into the 6-pin DIN Serial Link connector on the back of the CD player and will allow the player to be controlled from any universal remote programmed for Sony DVD.
