For example, when heavy reels must be started up from rest they must be fed initially with a higher starting voltage, which is gradually reduced via a triac circuit to normal running voltage. The entire operation must be entirely smooth or the tape could snarl or stretch. Revox B77 Stereo

Very happy to answer any questions. This beautiful piece of equipment was the central part of my dad’s professional home recording studio. Many hours of traditional jazz have been transposed and recorded on this two track tape recorder. It has been used to compose up to 10 piece big band jazz pieces. It plays music beautifully although one of the needle dial lights has gone off. The sound quality is excellent and isn’t distorted or fuzzy. There’s no warranty as this is a private sale and payment must be completed before collection. It’s really heavy, so collection only. It hasn’t been serviced or calibrated recently but the sound quality is excellent which indicates it’s still working as it should. Includes: Operating manual and copy, technical catalogue, one tape and one reel, a variable speed control box, 4 extra hubs and bottle of pinch wheel cleaning fluid. I’ve made a couple of videos showing it all working. I can’t share the video on here but perhaps I can send it to you or I’d be happy to to a video call so you can have a look and listen to it.

This is an estate sale find, the guy that had the sale said the man was a sound engineer. I found this unit in his library and another three in his shop out back I sold one unit locally and will list the other two soon, but they have damaged switches and no remotes. I have absolutely no knowledge of how to test these decks other than powering them on and pushing play, fast forward and rewind and they all function using the deck or remote.
