STAX headphones SR 404 signature in excellent lightly used condition. Hardly used (I managed to find a pair of 404 - LEs soon after buying these). These were kept as spares, but I am now upgrading so my LEs will become my spare set. In excellent condition, with all original packaging and manual, Being electrostatic headphones, these need an electrostatic amplifier to drive them. Fortunately they are not difficult to power (unlike the current high-end STAX offerings) so any STAX amp with a pro bias will be fine. They WILL NOT work with a regular amp designed for dynamic headphones, although energisers are available to connect to a regular amp. I also have a suitable amp listed and would be happy to negotiate on the price if sold as a pair. These were a very high-end headphone when manufactured, and still easily hold their own against most dynamic headphones (I was using some Beyerdynamic T1s and a good amp before upgrading to STAX). These suit most musical genres, from Metallica to Mozart. They excel with vocals and guitar. They handle bass well, but are not the best choice for bass-heads. Headphones will be posted in original packaging, double-boxed to ensure they arrive in the same excellent condition that were sent. Postal insurance and signature included.
