Front plate is fine. All knobs are original. Bottom plate is present without feet. The toggle switch for Speakers ON/OFF is loose and very questionable (broken?). That may need attention. This old Scott LK-72 is in good condition for its age and even includes the original manual. The front panel has a few scratches and is a little tweaked on the upper/left corner. It was found in storage and likely hasnt been used in decades. I hate to say it, but the tubes are worth more than the amp as a whole so theyve been removed and will be sold separately. Due to the amount of time that its sat idle, weve done no testing and its safe to assume that it should be gone through by a qualified tech to ensure everything is up to spec. It was supposedly working when last used so the transformers should be OK, and Ill take it back if Im wrong. However, please dont just plug it in to see what happens. For sale is a vintage, one of the best sounding H. H. SCOTT STEREOMASTER 299-D Integrated Tube Amplifier with Phono No tubes are included. I borrowed needed tubes for testing (12AX7 (4), 6U8 (2), 7189 (4), 5AR4 (1)). However, once I plugged to wall sockets, one of the white cylinders in the back started white smok (see red circle in one picture). I powered it down immediately. Apparently, this amp will need service first, before daily use. The amp appears to be all original; no mods. See the picture that shows interior circuitry. Physical condition is good for the age. Front plate is fine. All knobs are original. Bottom plate is present without feet. The toggle switch for Speakers ON/OFF is loose and very questionable (broken?). That may need attention. HMV Stereomaster 2402 Vintage Hifi 1969 A lovely vintage stereo system in wooden cabinet. The amplifier has been fully serviced with all new electrolytic capacitors as per the original spec, so there is zero background hum! :) The BSR MA70 turntable has been cleaned and oiled and works at the guaranteed correct speeds 16 33 45 and 78 rpm. It sounds fantastic, and capable of quite a loud volume! There is an aux in fitted, so the ‘Tape’ setting will allow a modern device with a stereo mini Jack. The FM and Radio selections on the right of the console are no longer working and have been disconnected inside, although the backlit display is still fine. The case has a few minor scratches, but nothing that wouldn’t come out with a bit of wood stain/polish. A great unit we have been using as our main stereo system and also for playing Spotify through etc. selling as looking to downsize to a smaller house. Collection only please.
