Selling my Technics SU-C1000 pre-amplifier. If you’re looking at this item, you probably already know what it is - an excellent quality HiFi pre-amp which used to go together with the top-of-the-line Technics power amps of the time. The rare engineering twist of this specific series was the idea to use a separate onboard battery to isolate the unit from issues stemming from fluctuations in the grid power supply, which works very well. Selling because my Technics power amp failed. Technically, the unit is in very good condition. My tech friend serviced it and exchanged the battery, which is now a new 1500mAh and should last for 3+ years. He also did a general check of functionality, and the unit works fine. Cosmetically, it is in good, but not collector-level good condition. It does have two imperfections, which I tried to show in the pictures. I am uncertain if these can be polished out. We took this apart and recapped all electrolytic caps on all boards with new high quality Nichicon caps as well as upgraded Wima Film caps for any value 4.7uf or smaller for sonic improvement. We replaced the belt just prior to this listing. Cleaned inside and out, in overall very good cosmetic condition with a a few mild scratches but not dents or other damage. All functions have been fully tested and this works exactly as it should. We do not have the remote.
