Thorens TD160 with SME3009 arm. This turntable is complete but needs some TLC and service. The motor runs and is quiet. The SME 3009 has a fixed head. The arm feels free but is missing the bias weight and the out rigger weight. The perspex cover need polishing has a scratch on top and a small crack near the hing point on one. see photos. Overall this turntable has the makings of a very useful addition to a classic stereo system with some work and informed maintenance.On 22-Jun-23 at 14:43:47 BST, seller added the following information: The small bias weight has been found and is included. (Can supply the original if preferred) Polished platter Overall this turntable is set up perfectly ,needs nothing and sounds really nice. Unfortunately I will definitely not post due to the very delicate nature of the turntable so collection only from Felixstowe, Suffolk , where you can have a listen before taking away if you wish. Thorens Td160b Face Plate and Inner Platter. Td160 plinth - looks like it is from a much later model. This has a much finer veneer than the original TD160 plinth and looks like it is Mdf rather than chipboard as per the 1970a original. The colour is darker as well more like rosewood. The plinth has cutouts for lid hinges and it doesn’t have the aluminium strip on the front upon which the lid rests when shut. This listing includes: -Plinth -Faceplate -Inner platter fixed -Plinth base (MDF) and rosewood feet/spikes and disks for feet -SME Armboard Excluded: -Outer platter -Platter mat -Tonearm -Motor -Speed adjust -Power leads and circuit -Lid and hinges -Belt I had a phase of restoring and customising Thorens TD160 turntables and accumulated lots of parts and spares, I can’t be certain where they all came from or how old used they are.
