Originally used in studios to drive monitor speakers, thus the sound is clean and precise (speaker plays a big part too) without added color. You can either hookup just a CD player to it, an iPod, or an inexpensive older receiver (which you can then connect all your toys to it) with pre-out so basically you use the Yamaha to drive the sound. Perfect for a compact stereo setup. Sold as is, no return please.

Excellent cosmetic condition with minor wear. The most noticeable wear are some shallow scuff marks on the top of the unit. Everything seems to be working good. RCA and 1/4 inputs, speaker outputs, channel A/B output level knobs, headphone jack, and power switch have all been tested and seem to be working good. I used the unit through the day and night and never noticed any issue; however I left this stereo going at a comfortable listening level, so I dont know how it will perform when fed a more powerful signal for a long duration. The unit features two large VU meters which appear to be working. I couldnt get the stereo to trigger the clip lights, most likely because I just didnt have enough gain from my computer audio interface. I could only get the VU meter needles to reach around half their range at max outputs of both my interface and the amplifier. This stereo can definitely put out the decibels for its compact size. It is still a hefty unit despite its slim form factor, weighing at about 9 1/2 pounds. NOTE: While this unit has both RCA and 1/4 jacks to use for input, these jacks seem to share the same input with no option on the stereo to switch between using the two options. As a result, I think you can only plug in one device at a time into this amplifier despite the two input options.
