probably ca. 1970s; the standard spindle clamp. Just normal light wear and tear and dust in the crevices. Good working shape for your old Ampex, Scully, or other decks!

You are bidding on an Ampex Model 350/351 professional reel to reel tape transport. I believe it is from the 1950s and is labelled 350R. It appears to be complete and all original, but is untested. The heads are present. It was rack mounted, and sat unused for a long time, so lubrication and cleaning is needed. No amplifier is included. I believe these were workhorses for the musical recording industry. It measures 19 by 15 3/4 inches at the front, and is roughly 8 inches deep below the front panel, and 3 inches above the front panel. It should be needed by someone. Shipping weight is 55 pounds. Listing is for 2 Bodine Electric Company for Ampex Tape Transports. I believe they are for the 350,351 models. Take up or supply reel motors Both motors have been tested. 1 motor is in good working condition the other motor is not working. Both in Good cosmetic condition. Motor #1- Bodine Electric Company - no. 4564890, RPM 1600, type - NCI-13, continuous duty, volts 117, .4 amps, capacitor 3.75 Motor has been powered up, tested and works correctly. ( My written test note on unit states slows on F.F. ) Motor #2 - same specs , no 4078571 . Motor is not working. Notes on unit state- Motor does not turn smoothly by hand - feels like it has notches as it turns. It didnt move when powered up. Possibly has a bad bearing. The large capacitor tested good.
