Another breakthrough during this decade was Beomaster 1900, a radio receiver and amplifier launched in 1976. Once again, design and operation differed dramatically from other contemporary products. Originally designed by Jacob Jenson, Beomaster 1900, together with Beomaster 2400-2 (AVAILABLE IN MY OTHER LISTINGS) were two advanced FM stereo receivers. They had identical technical specification and performance. Both were easy to use and easy to live with. Beomaster 2400-2 had the additional convenience of a cordless ultrasonic remote control module by which you could operate radio, amplifier and Beogram 2400-2 or 4004 record deck from a distance. Both receivers had touch-sensitive controls for operating the features and functions you used every day. All the secondary switches and adjustments were protected beneath a hinged lid, but an illuminated readout panel showed you the sets operational status at a glance. Beomaster 1900 boasted a powerful 2 x 30 watts RMS amplifier with distortion of less than 0,13%, five pre-set FM stations and comprehensive connection facilities. And this is the original version. - Not a 1900-2, not a 2400, not a 2400-2. Appearance:The general appearance is great.All lettering is present.I can spot only a few hairline marks to the surfaces.The wood finish is lovely rosewood, all original with only very few marks of wear.All photos are of the actual item. Technical:Absolutely superb !Completely serviced prior to auctioning, had a lot of capacitors and some trimmers replaced, had a thorough service and adjustment of amplifier sections etc.Even the rubber feet are new! Tested for hours prior to auctioning.All functions work and all controls have a good response.All primary functions, choice of sound-source (FM1-5 / Tape / phono, volume setting and stand-by) are sensitouch fields. No pressure required, just lay your finger on the required pad.It was really something back in the late 70s and still today very attractive and special.Opening the large alu-lid reveals all secondary controls, sliders for bass/treble/balance, controls for AFC, LOUDNESS and MONO, the FM presets and the control for choice of volume setting at power-up (no matter how high or low you played when you turned the unit off it will always power up at a fixed user setting, no loud surprises - very clever !). Another breakthrough during this decade was Beomaster 1900, a radio receiver and amplifier launched in 1976. Once again, design and operation differed dramatically from other contemporary products. Originally designed by Jacob Jenson, Beomaster 1900, together with Beomaster 2400-2 (AVAILABLE IN MY OTHER LISTINGS) were two advanced FM stereo receivers. They had identical technical specification and performance. Both were easy to use and easy to live with. Beomaster 2400-2 had the additional convenience of a cordless ultrasonic remote control module by which you could operate radio, amplifier and Beogram 2400-2 or 4004 record deck from a distance. Both receivers had touch-sensitive controls for operating the features and functions you used every day. All the secondary switches and adjustments were protected beneath a hinged lid, but an illuminated readout panel showed you the sets operational status at a glance. Beomaster 1900 boasted a powerful 2 x 30 watts RMS amplifier with distortion of less than 0,13%, five pre-set FM stations and comprehensive connection facilities. To operate it you simply touch the application dimples on the sets front panel. The radio section had 4 pre-set stations which could be summoned at a touch and the phase-lock loop decoder provided excellent stereo separation even in difficult reception conditions. The volume level could be pre-set at low, medium or high, and the music would always start at this level however much the volume control was altered last time the set was used. The sets controls were divided into primary and secondary functions. The latter, which were less frequently used, were placed underneath the hinged aluminium panel where they were protected from dust and accidental movement. A clear distinction was therefore made between the primary choice - accessible through a light touch - and the secondary choice, concealed under a lid hiding what the user did not need for daily use. At a stroke, what had been the norm for hi-fi in the past, with its macho grip and buttons, was eliminated. Instead, designer Jacob Jensen created a new design language, flat flush-designed and electronically communicating, which did not target a few techno-freaks, but a much wider audience who wanted music rather than hi-fi equipment. Beomaster 1900 had connections for two pairs of speakers, headphones, record player and cassette recorder. BANG OLUFSEN Beomaster 1900 Receiver Tuner Amplifier Rosewood. See my other listings for my pair of Beovox s45 speakers and my Beocord 1700 tape deck/recorder. For 50 years old this B&O amplifier/tuner is still working well.but looks as sleek and as futuristic as this 70s Scandinavian design classic. Its been in my ownership since late 80s. Used quite a bit and loved. All functions and buttons work well. Tuner has 4 presets and a 5th (FM5) is the manual dial. I havent got an aerial for this but I used to use a rudimentary coat hanger type thing. Still gives the basic tuning to local stations but people say that it comes alive when you tune into a FM stereo frequency. An extra light comes on when that happens and it sounds a bit like surround sound. The one problem that I suspect is the phono jack may not be functioning well. I tested it using the tape input and both sets of speaker outputs. I havent got any original cables for input. I have got an old din plug to av/av to 3.5 jack which I used in the headphone output on my beocord tape deck to test. Worked a treat. There are extra buttons to switch second pair of speakers on/off, a voltage dial for changing between different countries mains current, a headphone jack on the front. Condition wise its fairly tidy. It is not in original factory condition (Im 50 and Im not either) but its tidy, theres a little piece of the laminate thats buckled (but could easily be restuck) and some general signs of use. I have initially put collection only but if youd like to arrange delivery/courier I can package up and provide weight/dimensions.

And this is the real thing. - Not a 1900-2, not a 2400, not a 2400-2. Appearance:The general appearance is extremely nice.All lettering is present.I can spot only very few and minor marks from wear.The wood finish is lovely oak, all original with only very few marks of wear.All photos are of the actual item. Technical:Absolutely superb !Completely serviced prior to auctioning, had a bunch of capacitors and trimmers replaced, had a thorough service and adjustment of amplifier sections etc.Even the rubber feet are new!Correct quality parts from Beoparts-shop was used exclusively. Tested for hours prior to auctioning.All functions work and all controls have a good response.All primary functions, choice of sound-source (FM1-5 / Tape / phono, volume setting and stand-by) are sensitouch fields. No pressure required, just lay your finger on the required pad.It was really something back in the late 70s and still today very attractive and special.Opening the large alu-lid reveals all secondary controls, sliders for bass/treble/balance, controls for AFC, LOUDNESS and MONO, the FM presets and the control for choice of volume setting at power-up (no matter how high or low you played when you turned the unit off it will always power up at a fixed user setting, no loud surprises - very clever !). Push the lid gently and it closes slowly.With a height of only 6½ cm (apprx 2½ inch), wall mounting the unit would be stylish and of course the clever guys at B&O thought of this and put 2 holes underneath for this purpose.Inputs for antenna, turntable and Tape (or CD) with outputs for 4 speakers and headphones.Accepts all worldwide voltages 110-240V 50/60Hz, currently set to operate at 220V but easily switched by means of a control underneath the receiver, no special tools required.
