I purchased this equipment new from a HiFi dealer in the Santa Clara California area around 2004. The equipment was packed up in 2007 when we moved away from California and has been in storage since this July, when these photographs were taken. I used them as the primary speakers for a Bang Olufsen 7700 and was very pleased with their performance. All four pieces are in very close to new condition, and the sound quality of the speakers is still excellent. The following quote is from a review by HiFi Review: “DM600 S3 is the most compact speaker system in the 600th series of B&W. Tweeters design is the analogue of Nautilus - the design of HF-drivers. Woofers diffuser is a proprietary Kevlar plaiting. Plugs for bass-reflexes ports are included - for serious audiophiles. Also there is a bracket for integral mount. The concept of DM600 S3 does not provide bass like in floor standing system. The listing is for one single tweeter. This unit is used in all B&W DM600 S3, DM601 S3, DM602 S3, DM602.5 S3, DM603 S3, DM604 S3 speakers. The tweeter is fully working. Minor crease to the foil, but no holes or tears so still sounds as it should. Please inspect the photos. This is a black tweeter, this tweeter also come in grey but has a different part number. Please make sure it is the black tweeter that is required for your speaker.

Both speakers are fully working and sound great. It is important to keep in mind that these speakers have an impedance of 4 ohms. If you choose to use them with an 8-ohm amplifier (which is not advisable), they will not provide you with much power especially at higher volume levels. Woofer rubbers look slightly creased which is normal for this type of rubber. Tweeters are perfect. There is one dent to the rear corner as shown on the last photo. One grille has a tear and one is missing 2 pegs. Please ask if you want to see anything in details. I will try to make more close-up photos upon request.
